“Large Ribbon Geometry” — AEA’s name for what they call the “big ribbons” in their microphones. Most ribbon microphones use ribbons that are 0.8″ to 1″ in size; AEA’s mics have ribbons that are two inches or even longer. This allows them to tension the ribbons differently, and to set the resonant frequency substantially lower for flatter frequency response, even into the infrasonic range.
