Digidesign has just announced that for a limited time, the company will be offering a free Native Instruments AC BOX Combo plug-in with every Digi 002 Factory and Digi 002 Rack Factory purchase. The promotion will include any purchase made after February 15, 2006 and will run through September 15, 2006 or while supplies last. Based on the award-winning Native Instruments Guitar Rig amps, cabinets, and effects, the AC BOX Combo is modeled after the British 2 x 12″ amplifier that helped launch the so-called “British Invasion” of the 1960s. It’s so detailed, it even includes the original “top boost” treble enhancing circuit that was in style at the time (and which, we might add, is great for generating a nice “crunch” sound – just roll back your guitar’s tone control).
