1. The process of loading new software onto a computer or other device, as in “install Logic on that computer.”
2. A piece of software loaded on a computer, as in, “an install of Auto-Tune.”
3. To place new hardware items into a computer, synthesizer, or other device. As in, “install more RAM in the computer.”
4. To mount a piece of hardware, as in “install a preamp in a rack.
