A ground lift adapter is used to connect a 3-prong AC cable to a 2-prong AC outlet. It does this by eliminating the ground pin of the power outlet. Sometimes this is done because only 2-prong outlets are available. In other cases, these adapters are used in an attempt to break a ground loop. However: This is a very dangerous thing to do, unless you’ve safely and correctly grounded your equipment by other means. We do not recommend using these adapters.
