The expanded form of Roland’s GS extension of the General MIDI standard. TheGS standard added 98 tone instruments, 15 percussion instruments, eight drum kits, and three effects to the General MIDI standard, all of which could be controlled via Non-Registered Parameter Numbers (NRPNs). The GS standard is widely supported by music software, but no other hardware manufacturers have adopted it.
