GarageBand 3 features an onboard instrument tuner. To use it, you just have to enable a Real Instrument track for recording. In the time display, click on the tuning fork icon in the upper left corner to display the tuner. Make sure your instrument is connected, then play a note. The tuning meter will tell you what note is being played and how far off pitch you are. Shoot for the middle zero (0) mark. Once you’ve nailed it, the tuner displays a green light.
