Full Step

Another term for “whole step,” a full step is a common interval of music equal to two half steps. For example, a “D” note is one full step above a “C.” In between the two “at the half-step position” there is one note that can be spelled D flat or C sharp. (Which name is used for that note depends upon the key, the harmony, and how you look at the note’s purpose).
