Event Electronics appears to have a hit on their hands with the EZBus. They’ve been selling like crazy, and as is normal with any new piece of hi-tech equipment we are starting to see some trends in terms of technical support questions. A couple of the more common ones relate to getting it going on the Mac:
1) On Macs an EZbus cannot pass audio and MIDI via USB at the same time using OS 9.2 or earlier. To use EZbus as a control surface a separate MIDI interface is needed. This will be possible using OS 10.
2) The CS-10 emulator for Mac (necessary to control Pro Tools systems) is available on the Event website. It must be downloaded and used with the OS10 loader. The CS10 Pro Tools map must be loaded using OS10 into EZbus, then rebooted in OS 9 for normal use.
