The transition from analog television to digital television was supposed to take place on February 17, 2009. However, on February 4, the House of Representatives voted to delay the transition by nearly four months, to June 12. President Obama has already said that he will sign the delay legislation. Supporters of the delay claim that many households are not ready for the transition.
