An audio effect designed to simulate the sound created from double tracking. Doubling is often achieved by running a particular track through some combination of a short delay (10 to 50 ms), chorus, and pitch transposition (about a tenth of a half step sharp or flat) and mixing that effected signal with the original dry track. Actually any one of these effects can create the illusion effectively when deployed carefully, but quite often it is some combination that ends up working best. Sometimes the processed sound is panned differently from the dry track to give a little more separation between the two.
