Loaded with 44 weighted keys, four voices of polyphony, and all of the analog synthesis bells and whistles you could ask for, Dave Smith Instruments’ Mopho x4 is a major upgrade to any synth nut’s keyboard rig. Based on the original monophonic Mopho sound module and the 32-key Mopho keyboard, the Mopho x4 combines the sonic potential of four Mopho synth voices with the feel of an amazing 44-key weighted keybed. In addition to offering two analog oscillators, each of the Mopho x4 keyboard’s four voices sports a pair of sub-octave generators, three 5-stage envelope generators, four LFOs, and a relatchable arpeggiator.

A genuine 2/4-pole selectable Curtis lowpass filter gives each of the Mopho’s four voices its unique character, and a versatile 16 x 4 step sequencer on each voice lets you set up crazy rhythmic effects. All told, the Mopho x4 keyboard gives you a whopping 20 modulation sources with 50 destinations, plus you can expand the Mopho x4’s polyphony via PolyChain with up to three additional Mopho, Tetra, or Prophet ’08 modules. And with available third-party editor software, including a plug-in editor you can run from your DAW, your new Mopho x4 will easily integrate into your music production rig.
