The Mac’s Dashboard is the home for widgets, which are mini-applications that let you perform common tasks or provide fast access to information. Dashboard is installed with Mac OS X and should appear in the dock. With a single mouse click on its icon, Dashboard appears, complete with the widgets that are automatically installed with the OS. Click on the screen and the widgets disappear. The latest OS X, Tiger, includes a suite of widgets to get you started, and you can add more anytime. There are currently widgets for almost anything. Check the Apple web site to find them.
