Also known as the “Rangemaster” this is arguably the most famous classic ’60s treble booster. It wasn’t a pedal, but a box that sat on top of the amplifier, and was not footswitchable. Nevertheless, it helped define the sound of ’60s hard rock, becoming part of the signature sound of Brian May, Tony Iommi, Richie Blackmore, and others.
