Celesta

A keyboard instrument with steel bars resting on felt supports over wooden resonators. These are struck from above by felt hammers. Essentially, the celesta is a large glockenspiel played by striking notes on a keyboard rather than by using hand-held beaters. Because of the felt hammers and the wooden case, the sound of the celesta is not as bright as that of a glockenspiel.
