Cathode Biased

In a tube (valve) amplifier, an output stage that is biased according to the voltage drop across a resistor connected to the cathode element of the power tubes. This is often considered the source of “vintage tone,” as seen in Fender’s tweed Deluxe amp and the Vox AC30, among others.
