Typically, once you’ve burned data to a CD once, you’re done – it’s impossible to add any files and burn those, as well. Or is it? We won’t keep you in suspense: It can be done if you follow these instructions. First, create a new folder and give it a unique name. Then put the files you want to burn into that folder, then go to the Applications folder on and open the Utilities folder. Double-click on Disk Utility and when it comes up, go to the File menu, and under New, choose Disk Image from Folder. Once the Open dialog window appears, find your new folder and then click the image button. A Save dialog will appear, which you can name, then click Save. In a few minutes, a disc image of your folder’s contents will appear in the list on the left side of the Disk Utility dialog window. Click on that icon, then click the burn button at the top of the window.
When you do so, a dialog appears asking for a disc. Do that, then click once the blue, downward-facing triangle on the right side of the dialog to see more options. Click on the checkbox for Leave Disc Appendable, then click the Burn button. To add to your CD, follow the same instructions, but when you get to the final burn dialog, the button now says “Append.” It’s as simple as that!
