This is the name given to a particularly famous 1959 Les Paul in which there is strong red shading and prominent figuring of the quarter-sawn, book-matched maple top. The name comes from the prominent collector who owned this guitar, serial number 9 0913. It was first featured on the cover of Tom Wheeler’s American Guitar book, and more recently on pages 74-75 of Iwanade’s The Beauty of the ‘Burst.
