Beats Per Minute

The standard for denoting musical tempos, especially in electronic music composition tools such as sequencers, drum machines, and DAWs, as well as in some metronomes. “Beats per minute,” abbreviated BPM, indicates the number of beats that occur in a minute’s time. For example, 120 beats per minute means that in one minute there will be 120 musical beats regardless of any other variables such as time signature.
