Apple Unveils Brand New iPods

There have been rumors for weeks now, but today Apple confirmed it’s releasing several additional iPods. The first one is officially called the iPod touch (yes, with a lower case “t”) and comes stocked with features such as built-in Wi-Fi networking and the revolutionary multi-touch user interface that was first introduced on the company’s iPhone. This makes it easy to find all of your music, video, and other digital content and enjoy it on the iPod touch’s widescreen display. Just 8mm thin, iPod touch can play back up to 22 hours of audio and up to five hours of video. Available later this month, iPod touch comes in 8GB and 16GB models for $299 and $399, respectively.

Apple also took the wraps off its latest versions of the iPod nano and iPod shuffle. The new version of iPod nano now offers video playback, an enhanced user interface and a larger 2-inch display, so you can watch your favorite movies, TV shows, and music videos in the same resolution available on the current video iPod. With a beautiful new all-metal design, iPod nano comes in five new colors: silver, black, blue, green, and a (PRODUCT) RED special edition. The iPod nano comes in 4GB and 8GB versions, selling for just $149 and $199, respectively. The new iPod shuffle, also introduced today, comes in four new colors including the new (PRODUCT) RED Special Edition. Featuring 1GB of storage, iPod shuffle lets you wear up to 240 songs on your sleeve, belt, pocket, or lapel.

But we’re not done yet with news from Apple. Starting today, you can enter the brand new iTunes Wi-Fi Store where you can wirelessly browse, search, preview, purchase, and download songs to your shiny new iPhone or iPod touch. As soon as it downloads, you can immediately listen to your new music. Once you’re back in front of your Mac or PC, iTunes automatically recognizes the new downloads and syncs it to your existing library. What’s more, you can use the new ringtone maker feature of iTunes to create your own custom ringtones by selecting a segment up to 30 seconds long from any of the more than one million participating songs. Naturally, your Sweetwater Sales Engineer can help you choose the right iPod for your needs and budget, then help you make everything work together seamlessly!
