Wish you could run Apple‘s popular Logic Pro software on both PowerPC and the new Intel-based Macs? Well, Apple is about to make your wish come true. The company announced that their newest version, Logic Pro 7.2, will run on both platforms, so go out and get that new iMac or MacBook Pro. Logic Pro 7.2 also delivers enhanced functionality with third party products such as Apogee‘s Ensemble and Digidesign‘s Pro Tools, not to mention continued session compatibility with Apple’s own GarageBand 3 software (part of the company’s iLife ’06 suite). Other features include:
- Improved ReWire support
- Enhanced control surfaces support
- 32-channel support for multi-channel Audio Units instruments
- Playback of compressed files
- New Ducker plug-in
- Support for the Serato Pitch ‘n Time AU plug-in
- Speech enhancement plug-in
- 100 new royalty-free jingles and 200 sound effects
Logic Pro 7 or 7.1 owners (or those who purchase Logic Pro 7.1 today) are eligible to get the upgrade for $49. The new version is expected to ship in February 2006.
