Also referred to as an Analog Sequencer, this is a type of sequencer that does not use digitized performance information like we are accustomed to in modern computer-based designs. It operates by dividing a measure into a pre-determined number of divisions, or “steps.” Each step can then trigger notes or other events. Analog Sequencers were some of the first step sequencers.
