Alkaline Battery

A type of power storage cell (battery) that uses an alkaline electrolyte instead of acid. Alkaline substances are those considered to have a pH balance above 7.0 (neutral), where pH represents the concentration of hydrogen ions present. Where acids tend to corrode metal, an alkaline generally will not. Alkaline power cells can generally be made to last much longer, and provide more power longer, than their non-alkaline counterparts.
