A feature introduced in Apple Mac OS X Tiger that allows multiple audio interfaces (external or internal) to be used simultaneously in software applications. Device Aggregation combines FireWire, PCI, and built-in devices, provided they employ the same sample rate, and displays them as a unified “aggregate device” in any compatible software, increasing the available I/O.
