Ashdown Engineering bass amplifiers have been tearing up stages since the late ‘90s, breaking out in the British music scene in force. Following their initial success with many of the UK’s top bass players, Ashdown quickly spread from their original shop in Heybridge, Essex, to offices and warehouses in California, Kentucky, and Canada. In recent years, Ashdown’s worldwide artist roster has grown to include influential players such as Nate Mendel (Foo Fighters), Tim Kingsbury (Arcade Fire), and Nick Harmer (Death Cab For Cutie). Today, Ashdown bass amps can be found in more than 60 countries, and we’re delighted to offer them at Sweetwater.
With over 30 years of experience building fantastic bass amplifiers for all occasions, it’s little wonder Mark Gooday, Ashdown’s owner, was able to create a range of amps for everyone from beginners to stadium-storming superstars. The ABM series is by far Ashdown’s most popular line, offering solid-state and tube-fired tone, a full range of cabinet configurations, and up to 2,000 watts of thunder. A unique EQ design puts ABM models firmly among the most tweakable amps ever made, whereas onboard compression and subharmonics provide truly epic bass tone.
Ashdown’s CTM series, on the other hand, provides warm and wooly tube tone, completely unadulterated by extraneous circuitry. They’re the tube bass amps many tone purists turn to, especially in the studio. The affordable MAG/EB lineup offers a solid set of heads, cabs, and combos with many of the core features of the ABM line. They’re perfect for any bass player in need of serious punch. Even Ashdown’s modest All Access line provides impressively useful functions for players on a budget, including a 3-band EQ, an input for your music player, and tube-style saturation.
No matter what you need, Ashdown has the bass amplifier for you. Call your Sales Engineer to learn more!
