A 500 Series rack is a hardware chassis, or frame, into which 500 Series modules may be mounted. A 500 Series rack typically provides power for the installed modules, and input and output connections. Certain racks provide extended or proprietary features such as built-in mixing, sidechain connections, and more, which are available to modules designed to support them. 500 Series racks are available in various sizes (meaning they hold various numbers of modules), in tabletop or portable formats, or in rackmount format.
