FEPROM

An acronym for “Flash Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory,” this is a type of non-volatile storage chip that functions as ROM (Read Only Memory) but that can be erased and reprogrammed. Compared to ordinary RAM (Random Access Memory), an FEPROM does not lose its contents when the power is removed, which makes it ideal for storing small amounts of data. However, it is not as fast as RAM or standard ROM, and is generally more expensive.
