New for AES, E-MU Systems has announced the new PM5 Precision Monitor. From its custom amplifiers (40W/40W bi-amplified power section with discrete Class-A input stage, MOSFET output stages and active crossover) to its drivers and cabinet, the PM5 offers superior imaging and hi-end transient detail with linear frequency response according to the company. Features like overload protection, balanced/unbalanced inputs, and treble, bass and input sensitivity controls ensure that the PM5 will seamlessly integrate into any studio environment. E-MU suggested that a pair will street for around $500, making it even more difficult for project studio owners to choose between the vast array of nice-sounding, affordable monitors!
