The Big Apple
Apple was here today giving us the lowdown on what’s new in Logic 7.1, as well as a tour of the new features in Tiger (OS X 10.4) and the differences between Soundtrack and Soundtrack Pro. Wow, we’re impressed! The new features in Tiger should be a big help to many users – we especially like the aggregate devices and the ability to MIDI computers together over ethernet or wireless networks – no MIDI interface required, and no latency. (Not to mention all those cool little Dashboard Widgets…) Soundtrack Pro amazed us with it’s fast operation, powerful sound design features, and ability to step backward and forward through and reorder sequences of effects and processes that have been applied to audio files (think of the way in which PhotoShop handles layers).

Professional Arrangements
The operating system for Korg’s Pa1X and Pa1X Pro Professional Arranger keyboards has been updated to version 2.5. The new OS is a free download. The PA-80 has also been updated to version 3.06, also a free download.

Live EQ
TC Electronic has released the Version 2 operation system software for their EQ Stations dedicated live EQ and MotoFader-64 fader remote. The new version provides many new features, including improved fader latency, MIDI recall of scenes and presets, security “lock” modes, delayed on/off functions, and much more. The update is a free download.
