* A download for the new T-RackS 1.3 is now available, providing compatibility for IK Multimedia registered users with Mac Intel Systems. T-RackS users may download this Universal Binary update for free from the User Area. In addition, T-RackS 1.3 is now fully Pro Tools 7-compliant and compatible with Cubase 4. IK says all users should be sure to review the “Readme” file and read the Installation and user manual for information on how to install the update.
A new free demo of T-RackS is also available. The demo is fully functional for a period of ten days. According to the folks at IK, more updates for their software will soon be available for download from the IK web site. The remaining Universal updates for IK’s music production tools can be found in the IK news section, where you’ll find the Mac-Intel Calendar.
* Steinberg has announced there are new Universal Binary updates for its Virtual Guitarist 2 and Hypersonic 2 VST instruments. The update adds compatibility with Apple’s Intel-powered Macintosh computers and is available for download now to all registered owners of these two instruments. These are the first two Universal updates to Steinberg VSTi instruments with further updates coming in April 2007. As announced at the Musikmesse trade show, further updates for Intel-based Macs will be released at that time for HALion, HALion Player, HALion Player OEM, HALion Symphonic Orchestra, Virtual Guitarist 2, and The Grand 2.
