Apogee has announced a new, highly flexible audio interface, Symphony I/O, which can be used with Logic, Pro Tools LE, Pro Tools HD, and any CoreAudio-compatible DAWs — no drivers necessary. The I/O configuration can be set up however the user likes with various modules; among the options are analog, AES/EBU, and ADAT optical I/O; there’s also a mic preamp module. Up to 32 simultaneous channels of I/O can be used simultaneously. Dual headphone outs are provided, along with PCI, USB, and Ethernet connectivity. The interface has a modular design that will provide support for emerging formats and help future-proof it. Of course, Apogee’s world-class sound and clocking are standard features.
