A term often used in multimedia circles that means essentially the same thing as loop or looping does in audio circles, especially in the digital sampler paradigm. Essentially it refers to using some or all of a particular audio passage to repeat a sound for the sake of making that particular sound last longer.
Also a method of troubleshooting in network and/or communication systems, where a signal is referenced or “looped” back to a starting point.
