A temporary, rough, or scratch track that is recorded or created for a project as a reference for overdubs and additional parts. A guide track may serve as a reference for feel, tempo, the arrangement, and other performance parameters. In most cases, the guide track will be replaced with a “real” keeper track as the project moves toward completion.
