Correct Cleaning for a Maple Fingerboard

Maple fingerboards are quite different from rosewood or ebony and should be cleaned using a different product. Manufacturers of guitars with maple boards each have their own recommendation and even their own special product. We recommend buying some when you purchase your guitar. The cleaner is often part of a package that includes a cleaning cloth and extra strings. But if you have an older instrument and simply want to get the job done now, you’ll be safe enough using any wax-free multi-surface cleaner, such as Pledge Clean & Dust. It’s widely available and leaves a nice streak-free surface.
