Using Kontakt 3’s Sample Purge Function

There may be a bit of confusion about the Sample Purge function in Native Instruments’ Kontakt 3. To be clear: No samples are deleted from your hard drive. The only thing that happens when you use Sample Purge is that some samples are deactivated in RAM in the current layout so that they don’t gobble up precious sampler memory. What’s more, it’s always possible to undo the effects of Sample Purge actions. Simply click on Reload All Samples and this restores the full complement of samples. You can use the Purge command on a specific instrument or on a global basis.
