Absynth 4: More Than Just Another Pretty User Interface

Recently, Native Instruments gave Absynth 4 a brand new, redesigned user interface. Aside from being more attractive and less cluttered, the new interface allows for highly intuitive access to its 1,200 factory presets through an integrated KoreSound browser. Its sound arsenal was also expanded with 200 additional presets and a new sample library created specifically for use in Absynth’s granular synthesis and sample modes. There’s also a new master envelope and 16 assignable macro controls that allow you to perform dramatic realtime sound manipulations with the use of just a few knobs. As if that weren’t enough, NI gave the program additional oscillator modes and new “wave morphing” technology. Finally, a versatile new “live input” mode with envelope follower allows users to trigger and modulate any Absyth sound by using external audio signals.
