The “little brother” of the 6L6, this vacuum tube is the foundation of many lower wattage American amps. It has the same sonic footprint as the 6L6 tube: solid lows, glassy highs, and present mids, but in a smaller-bottle tube with less than half the wattage. 6V6 tubes are generally very robust and sound good in everything from squeaky clean to higher-gain, low-watt amps.
