In digital data architecture, “64-bit” refers to the number of bits of the integers, memory addresses, and other data units that are used by the data in question. Most computer CPUs in use today utilize 64-bit architecture, including the CPUs and DSP chips inside many digital audio hardware products. Most digital audio software today supports 64-bit processing as well.
