An early rectifier tube from the 1930s. It produces a flexible, elastic, and spongy feel that is a bit more controlled and slightly less “saggy” than the more popular EZ81, 5Y3, and GZ34/5AR4 rectifier tubes. This tube isn’t in wide use in guitar amplifiers anymore due to its large “coke bottle” size.
