According to Heritage Galleries & Auctioneers, Johnny Carson’s Shure SM33 mic has sold for $50,787.50. The ribbon mic was used by Carson on his show during the ’60s and ’70s, and was “saved” from being thrown away during one of the show’s technical upgrades in the ’80s.
