5 Cool Guitar Listings on Gear Exchange

5 Cool Guitar Listings on Gear Exchange

Of all the used gear we run across on Gear Exchange (GX, for short), guitars take center stage. See for yourself what we mean; from vintage blues barons to golden-era shredders to the classy sheen of contemporary axes, there’s always something interesting to discover — not to mention hundreds of used pedals, amps, cabinets, microphones, and more. Among all the options, there are always a select few that especially pique our interest. That said, in honor of Sweetwater’s Guitar Month, we’ve handpicked five of our favorite used guitar listings on Gear Exchange (plus a few extras). Let’s take a look!

Guitars

Martin 1966 GT-70

Up first is this beautiful Martin GT-70. Built in 1966, it bears Martin’s traditional maple body construction paired with a mahogany neck and Brazilian rosewood fingerboard that show off its age in absolute style. Likewise, while some minor signs of wear are present, this guitar is in remarkable shape. It’s armed with dual DeArmond Dynasonic pickups and a classic vibrato tailpiece to conjure up a swathe of rock ’n’ roll tones and bluesy breakdowns. It even comes complete with a vintage hardshell case for secure storage and transport! As charming as this GT-70 is, we’re sure it’s in the sights of several discerning guitarists — grab it for yourself before it’s too late!

Gibson 1959 Melody Maker 3/4

Here’s something you don’t see very often: a Gibson 1959 Melody Maker 3/4 with a traditional Brazilian rosewood fretboard and original pots/wiring. This short scale features replaced vintage Grover tuners and the original case, making it a serious opportunity for collectors. The guitar’s pickup, on the other hand, has been swapped with a Curtis Novak MM-90 Bridge, no doubt providing maximum sonic performance and clarity while retaining the guitar’s vintage tonal roots. Judging by its appearance, this Melody Maker has been a handy companion since it was built — and it’s simply begging to be brought back to life!

Gibson 1939 L-50 Archtop

Having been in production since 1932, this 1939 Gibson L-50 is among the very first of its kind. Over the years, this six-string has seen its fair share of use; however, the owner reports that, sonically and structurally, this model performs just as it should. It’s outfitted with aftermarket closed-back tuners with metal buttons as well as a metal strap button placed at the center of the heel. Visually, this L-50 is as classic as they come, as it’s retained the very same sunburst finish since birth along with an elevated tortoiseshell celluloid pickguard. It’s rare to find a guitar from this era complete with its original case and in such great condition!

Ibanez Joe Satriani Signature JS2410

Simply put, the Ibanez Joe Satriani Signature JS2410 is a beautiful guitar. This one is in excellent condition and showcases a rare Muscle Car Orange finish to boot! Sweetwater’s discerning guitarists know that the JS2410’s pickup duo is a serious sonic contender, offering bold roars and screaming highs — and this model is no different. Included with the guitar are the original case, whammy bar, and case candy. Considering it’s in such great shape, it’s no wonder this JS2410 has already sold. That said, it’s among the finest guitars we’ve seen listed on GX in recent months.

Yamaha Revstar Professional RSP02T

Aside from minimal signs of wear on the back control plate, this Yamaha Revstar Professional RSP02T is described by the seller as “virtually new”! Its Crisp Gold finish is a favorite here at Sweetwater, and its sound is propelled by a maple-topped, chambered-mahogany body that produces authentic, balanced warmth. Alongside its traditional construction, this model boasts dual VP5 pickups to secure iconic P-90-style tones. It’s all topped off with a carbon-reinforced mahogany neck and onboard Focus switch for maximum handling and tonal versatility in stage and studio situations. Altogether, this Revstar Professional RSP02T is a seriously sweet deal.

Guitar Pedals and Accessories

Celestion G12M25

Now for something a little different — check out this Celeston G12M25 speaker! Built in England in 1977, this particular unit is undoubtedly well broken in, as it still has its original 1777 cone! The seller notes a slight amount of flaking enamel on the back; however, this doesn’t result in tonal changes and won’t be visible inside your cabinet once it’s installed. It’s an awesome replacement option in combo amps as well as a sweet addition to 212 or 412 cabinets. It pays to get creative when it comes to speakers. Try it for yourself before it gets swiped!

LPD Pedals Limited Edition Lustre Overdrive

Idolized for its AC30-style effects, this Limited Edition Lustre Overdrive pedal is, according to the seller, model no. 31 of only 32 released. So, it’s not only a rare find, but it boasts cool British tones. Loaded with level, drive, treble, and bass controls, it’s simple to use, as well. If you haven’t already, then put this pedal up for consideration on your board — you’ll thank yourself later!

Analogman Modded Maxon SD-9

Last but certainly not least, we spotted this enticing Analogman Modded Maxon SD-9. The Analogman mod turns this already packed pedal into something purer, providing maximum gain while retaining utmost clarity. According to Analogman themselves, the mod changes the stock sound all the way through the tone knob, maximizing every bit of sonic space for use in several genres. This pedal includes the original Super Mod along with the Midrange Knob and Half Clipping Knob mods as well as a bright green LED for extra aesthetic appeal. If you’re thinking of dipping your toes into the world of modded pedals, then start here.
