1176 vs. 2-1176

Q: Are there difference between having two separate Universal Audio 1176 compressor/limiters and a 2-1176 Twin compressor/limiter?

A: In both cases you have a pair of 1176s that can be used dual mono or linked for stereo. Aside from the obvious form factor (two separate boxes versus a single box), the only real difference is that the 2-1176 uses a rotary control for setting the ratio, where the 1176 uses push-button switches. And yes, each side of the 2-1176 does the famous “all-button” super-squash mode.
