Warwick’s Only Neck-through Pro Series Fretless Bass

When it comes to modern bass guitars, Warwick is an undisputed industry champion with a proven record of innovative and beautiful instruments. This German-made Warwick Pro Series 5 Streamer Stage I features Warwick's full spread of classic features — from choice tonewoods like cherry and wenge to active pickups and unique in-house hardware, it's all brought into harmonic unity through passionate craftsmanship and advanced German engineering. This version of the Streamer is Warwick’s only Pro Series model to feature a neck-through construction, fully fretless for unmatched musical tone and exceptional 5-string sustain. Discover why Warwick is such a trusted worldwide brand: purchase your Streamer Stage I from Sweetwater today!

Modern tonewoods carved to perfection

Each piece of wood that goes into the Streamer Stage I is hand selected for beauty and weight, then CNC-carved to perfection. US-grown cherry makes up the Streamer Stage I’s solid resonant body. This underrated tonewood has exceptional and clear transparency that echoes the best traits of mahogany and maple. The neck features flame maple with a comfortable "C" profile and a neck-through design that enhances string vibrations, delivering resounding presence to enable the full potential of the fretless fingerboard.

Active pickups

The Warwick Streamer Stage I features two active J-style pickups and a powerful MEC preamp with a 2-band EQ for treble and bass. These pickups offer versatile spreads of 5-string tones ranging from rumbling lows to mellow highs. Simply use the balance knob to dial in a core tone using either pickup (or both) and adjust the bass and treble EQ knobs as needed. These MEC pickups are wonderfully transparent and let the Streamer's tonewoods shine, but they also take well to driving tones for pop, rock, metal, and more. For additional flexibility, the volume knob also offers a push-pull switch for total bypass of the active preamp and a passive-style tone.

In-house hardware

Making in-house hardware isn’t cheap, but Sweetwater bassists think you’ll hear the difference in Warwick's approach. The Streamer's proprietary hardware includes a chrome-finished brass nut and bridge. Brass delivers richer, clearer tone than other conventional nut and bridge materials, and is more inline with traditional materials used in brass instruments for centuries.

Warwick: a triumph of German engineering

Hans Peter Wilfer founded the family-owned Warwick brand in 1982. Since then, Warwick has spread globally with endorsers like John Entwistle of The Who, Adam Clayton of U2, Robert Trujillo of Metallica, Bootsy Collins, P-Nut of 311, and many more spanning any style you can imagine. Warwick takes pride in channeling inspiration from classic German instrument makers and marrying it with execution and production rooted in modern German engineering techniques. Warwick boasts worldwide recognition but maintains artisan output with only a few thousand Pro Series basses made each year. The forward-thinking company also takes pride in its eco-friendly measures. Warwick was one of the early adopters of FSC sustainable wood practices and even put their extra wood scraps to use as fuel for green energy on-site at their plant in Germany.
