The GA5FM Thinline’s body shape makes your comfort the top priority. The body’s shallow depth translates perfectly to gigs onstage, but it’s also a great choice for strumming away while relaxing on the couch. Ibanez chose a solid flamed maple top, which looks incredible. But more importantly, maple’s articulate sound and punchy attack give the GA5FM Thinline the visceral expression of a standard classical body. If you mainly play electrics or steel-string acoustics, you can easily pick up the GA5FM and watch your fretwork and skills transfer smoothly. The purpleheart fingerboard terminates in a 46-millimeter nut, bringing strings closer together for a familiar feel. A standard classical would put more strain on your hands, but not the GA5FM Thinline! Lastly, a cutaway on the treble side provides increased access to higher registers, which makes tackling high melodies and lead lines infinitely more feasible.
Electronics with built-in tuner and EQ controls
The Ibanez GA5FM Thinline’s built-in electronics let players tackle everything from live gigs to direct recording at home. The preinstalled AEQ210T preamp is ready to connect to PA systems, mixing boards, acoustic amplifiers, recording interfaces, and more so that you (and the audience) can enjoy the GA5FM’s sound. The AEQ210T preamp has an onboard tuner and a volume control; the bass and treble EQ controls let you adjust the preamp’s tone to suit your tastes and technique, as well as different rooms or sound systems when performing live.
