Much More Than Phaser Effects Await

Like all of their One Series pedals, there's a lot more to the Source Audio Lunar Phaser pedal than meets the eye. Right off the shelf, it offers three distinct flavors of phaser to sweeten your sounds: 4-stage phasing, 8-stage phasing, and Uni Vibe–style phasing. Where the magic happens is with Source Audio's Neuro Editor software, which takes you inside the pedal's powerful 56-bit Sigma DSP and allows you to fine-tune all sorts of parameters. Neuro also gives you access to more phaser engines, as well as flangers and choruses. And once you've created your ideal effects, you can save up to three of them on the Source Audio Lunar Phaser pedal for instant recall, without ever having to open the editor again.

Customize your tone with the Neuro Editor

You can make your Lunar Phaser pedal your does-it-all modulation effects box simply by using the free Neuro Editor. Connect the Lunar Phaser via USB to the Neuro Editor, and you'll have access to Source Audio’s free library of additional phaser, flanger, and chorus algorithms — each directly downloadable to the pedal. The Neuro App also offers an extended range of adjustable parameters that includes Feedback, Output Level, embeddable Tremolo, Parametric EQ, advanced signal routing, and much more.

Source Audio Lunar Phaser Pedal Features:

  • 3 distinctive phaser modes onboard, with more available via Neuro Editor software
  • Free Neuro Editor offers access to additional phaser, flanger, and chorus engines, plus deep parameter tweaking
  • Stock phaser types include 4-stage phaser, 8-stage phaser, and Uni Vibe–style phaser

Reviews

Incredible, incredible phaser! Buy it!!
I typically don't do reviews but I had to share because there's hundreds of phasers on the market and for the longest time I've tried to find something that can do the Phase 90, and Small Stone phasing tones while utilizing midi on my pedal switcher. I had a Strymon Zelzah and it sounded decent but I had a hard time capturing the swirls and depth of my old phase 90 and Small Stone. Oddly of all things with the Zelzah you hear the sound, but you don't feel it if that makes sense?

So a video happened to pop up in my YouTube feed about the Lunar Phaser and I wondered how this one slipped through the cracks? Not too many videos out there on this pedal. Just out of curiosity I decided to buy it. Why not!? I own the Collider and it's the centerpiece of my pedalboard so why not give this a try, and it's half the price of the Zelzah!? Right out of the box I knew this was a win. Four knobs a three way toggle. Easy. Middle toggle-there's the phase 90 tone with just a few twists of the knobs. Twist the shape knob and a tweak on the resonance and there's the Small Stone phasing. All dialed in within a few seconds. Just for kicks I pulled out my original 74 script logo Phase 90 and 80s Small Stone (almost mint condition units) and A/B'd them to the Lunar. The only tonal difference I could hear is that the Lunar had brighter treble frequencies within the swirls which made it sound a little more digital however, I opened the Neuro App, plugged the cable into the pedal and the other end into my IPad, scrolled down to the treble level and reduced the treble down from the stock 127 to 100. The tone warmed up and comparatively, it's spot on nailing the Phase 90 and Small Stone. A/B-ing the effect to bypass tone and there's no tonal change just rich phasing. The feel, swirls, depth…it's all there. It doesn't feel or sound digital after adjusting out those brighter trebles. I think the Lunar actually sounds better which I know, is quite a statement to make! Another thing I love is you can turn up the volume if you wish within the neuro app and give your phaser a little volume boost when you turn it on. Anyone who knows phasers knows the Small Stone it's a tone sucker, and with the phase 90, I always wished it to be a little louder and richer in tone- all those wishes granted with the Lunar phaser.

Going further, I dialed in some really awesome Mutron Bi phase tones, 6 stage phaser, and electric mistress phase/flange tones, along with a chorus tone that sounds just like Purple Rain!! All these tones come with ease using the Neuro app. Lastly I dove into the univibe setting on the pedal. Now, nothing beats the real thing when it comes to a Univibe, but this one sounds good! I juiced up the mix, and bass resonance for the throb along with a few other tweaks within the Neuro app and managed to dial in a pretty convincing vibe tone. I can't complain or knock it. It sounds great!

Don't hesitate on this phaser. 4,6,8,and12 phasing modes, univibe, flanger, chorus…3 presets on the pedal and 127 midi presets. This thing rules!

Download and utilize the Neuro app with this pedal! It's simple to use. It's not intimidating at all. Click on an effect style, then turn the knobs on the pedal. When you dial in the sound you love, click on "burn" and it's stored on your pedal. My only recommendation is bring that treble level down a bit and it'll sound just as good as the real thing.

Hope this review helps! Source Audio knocked it out of the park with this pedal. It's a forever on my board pedal.

A really great Phaser Pedal
I used to have a Mu-Tron Phaser back in the day, and I was missing it. I bought this to use on my analog and modular synths, particularly my Arp Solina String synthesizer. It makes the strings sound like the out-of-this-world string sweeps from the 70's! And it does so much more than that with two LFOs to shape the signal, and you can tweak it with an app on your phone to unlock a lot more features! It's money well-spent for this sturdy, beautiful, and great sounding pedal.

Well made
It is sturdy. It is a pretty light blue. It has stereo in and out. It has many controls. It does what is supposed to do. It made my synth sound like it was on LSD. I love it. There is an app on your phone to make adjustments. I have not delved into that yet. But that is cool. I got a demo model and it was perfect.

Nice, but
I use it with my vocal mic, so the only thing that would make it great would be if the ins and outs were combo jacks.
