I bought my first Kyser capo way back in the 80's. Up until that time I was using a Shubb capo which is still a great product to this day. But once I tried the spring loaded Kyser there was no going back. Kyser made changing keys on the fly a whole lot quicker. Now 30 years later (yikes!) they've made open tunings even easier. If you use any kind of open tunings this Short-Cut Kyser Capo is a must have for your gig bag. It has the same outstanding build quality as the original ones and will last you a lifetime. Works on every guitar I own (acoustic and electric) and stays in place on the different guitar necks I have. I love the way it's opened up more sonic possibilities in the tunings that I've learned to use over the many years of playing guitar. I'm really happy with this purchase and I'm confident that you will be too. If it were lost or stolen I definitely would replace it.

I didn't buy my short-cut capo from Sweetwater, but am a customer for life now. This capo is an amazing creative tool. As the other reviewers noted, this opens up all sorts of creative avenues without having to re-tune the guitar. I've used it for several years and it's an important part of my approach to playing guitar. I was doodling one day and put it on the 4th fret and was totally engrossed for a couple hours! So fun and easy to use. Highly recommended!

Great item: Opens up your creativity; makes Esus chord, reverse to other side of neck will make A major chord. Use your imagination for more options.

I would use it on every song if I could. It has opened up a whole new world of exploration & improved my creativity. The description for this product is not quite correct, as it does NOT capo the first 3 strings on the guitar. It actually capos the A, D & G strings only, and leaves the low E, B & high E strings open. Highly recommended if you love the sound of alternative tunings without having to retune.
