Reviews

Exceptional for live use
I run virtual synth VST's on a Windows 11 laptop at 48khz, and connect its USB audio to this ART direct box for live use. The sound quality is as perfect as it can get - the D-to-A converters in this DI box are awesome! The 48khz latency on my laptop is 10.3ms, then I don't perceive any additional latency from this direct box. It's a solid unit that will take the scrapes and bumps of gigging.

There are more expensive ones that go to 96kHz but I presume that extra expense is for studio use. 44kHz or 48kHz is ideal for live use. If you throttle your laptop back to 32kHz "FM quality", you lose some highs. This ART DI box accepts 32kHz to 48kHz digital input and its output is flat from 20Hz to 20kHz.

Be sure to install the ASIO4ALL USB driver on your laptop so the laptop has low latency sending it over to the DI box.
It was what we needed before we knew we needed it.
We were having a hum coming through the sound system. We swapped cables, channels, disconnecting different devices and it seemed to be the laptop. Using 1/8 mini for the the out worked for years without a problem, then this hum. I was looking at the options and came across this USB to XLR. Once connected, testing and adjustments; this is the thing.
Before the trouble might come through any channel even the the laptop channel muted. Now we can have any number of channels on the board live at a time. Very happy with the purchase.
Handy DI
Laptop sound cards are notorious for noisy output. This is a great solution and a great price. I love the headphone jack for a monitoring option and the ability to switch the volume knob from adjusting the XLR output or just the headphone output. I always like options. Good box, great price. Arrived a day earlier than scheduled, which is also very nice.
