Bauer Studios has been the home of a legendary 1920s Steinway D grand piano used on countless famous recordings by artists such as Keith Jarrett, Chick Corea, Carla Bley, and many others, and its sound is exquisitely captured in Galaxy Vintage D virtual instrument. What impresses the engineers at Sweetwater the most is the 10GB of 24-bit samples (losslessly compressed to 5GB), which span 13 velocity layers per each. Each sample was meticulously recorded using Neumann U47 and KM53 microphones, classic Siemens tube preamps, and the Neve console at Bauer Studios, and you can really hear the work that went into Vintage D with every note you play.
