What’s New for 2?
WaveLab Cast 2 adds a new Startup Assistant with different workshops geared toward either recording new content or editing existing projects. Upon the first time you start WaveLab Cast 2, you’ll be introduced to the workshops and their tools. With each one tailored to a specific goal, WaveLab Cast 2 gets you up and running in no time.
Track Inspector: an easy-to-use channel strip
WaveLab Cast 2's Track Inspector is an easy-to-use channel strip with high-performance tools for adding clarity and intelligibility to your podcast or video. And we do mean easy — this channel strip's one-knob approach permits you to dial in your sound with few knob turns. You get two sections: Clean and Enhance. Clean includes refinement tools, such as DeEsser and DeNoiser; Enhance gives you an EQ for sound shaping, plus an exciter and maximizer for adding presence and punch to voice tracks. You also get a great-sounding reverb for adding dimension and polish.
Powerful audio editing and assembly features
Editing is vital for achieving a pro-level podcast. It's a powerful process that allows you to make your podcast as ear-grabbing as possible. Steinberg WaveLab Cast 2 makes trimming excess material from your recording and rearranging segments easy. It even creates automatic crossfades to safeguard against unwanted clicks. With WaveLab Cast 2, you can split your recordings across more than one track, while track handles permit easy fade creation and volume manipulation. You can also add background music and effects to a separate track. To top it off, automatic ducking lowers the background music during dialog for a polished, pro-quality sound.
Streamlined audio extraction from a video file
When you import a video file into WaveLab Cast 2, it automatically appears in the software's video player and as thumbnails on the video track, while video's audio material is extracted and shows up on automatically created audio tracks. Since the audio is on a second track, you can use WaveLab Cast's Track Inspector and editing tools to whip it into shape. Then, when you've finished editing, you can reintegrate the optimized audio with the video.

Whether you use Spreaker, Podbean, SoundCloud, Buzzsprout, or Castos, you'll be able to upload your episodes directly from within WaveLab Cast 2.
