A Must-have MIDI Problem Solver

The MIDI Solutions Quadra Merge lets you connect MIDI from four sources, and merges them into a pair of MIDI outs. The Quadra Merge gives you four MIDI inputs in a tidy package that's easy to fit into your setup. All the MIDI messages that appear at the Quadra Merge inputs are merged into the output - and this includes SysEx, MIDI Clock, and MIDI Time Code messages! A quick-merge algorithm ensures that all your MIDI data is processed accurately, and with minimal delay. If you work with MIDI gear, the MIDI Solutions Quadra Merge is a must-have.

MIDI Solutions Quadra Merge 4-input MIDI Merger Features:
  • Merges 4 MIDI inputs into 2 MIDI outputs
  • MIDI indicator LED lights up when the product is powered and flashes when MIDI data passes through it
  • MIDI-powered: requires no batteries or power supply to operate with most gear
  • Very compact: 4-3/16" x 2-3/16" x 1-3/32"
  • Lightweight: 4.7 oz.
  • Multi-voltage design is compatible with both 5V and 3.3V devices
Feng shui your MIDI setup with the MIDI Solutions Quadra Merge!

Reviews

I can't think of a reason to not give this unit 5 stars
I purchased this MIDI merge for extra MIDI inputs for my Roland 50580 synth. The Roland has two inputs, but I needed more.

The unit is compact, well constructed and there haven't been any problems with it, and I don't anticipate that there will be.

It's powered through one of the MIDI inputs which is refreshing because I didn't need to add yet another AC adapter to my rig.

It's attached to the inside of the rack box behind the Roland using Velcro tape and it's very secure and shouldn't detach when the gear is moved back and forth to gigs.

Thanks for reading, and best of luck on your journey.
Very handy little box
No fuss, no muss MIDI merger. Does exactly what it says. In my case, I have several synth modules and three controllers of various types, and with this box any of the controllers can trigger any of the synths (which are daisy chained via their MIDI thru jacks) by switching MIDI channels on those controllers.

A great feature is that it requires no wall wart or batteries or external phantom power; it's powered by the incoming MIDI connection signal itself, which carries a small voltage. I think some people might be confused at how this thing is powered, but it's really that simple. Any MIDI device out there should work, unless they're defective or deviate horribly from the MIDI specification.
Solved my problem
I have four midi instruments going in and need one out going to my audio interface. I feared the four in's were divided. Two in and one out, but I tested it and turned out all four inputs send the same info to each of the outputs. I suppose someone with more instruments than four could daisy chain another box.
Quadra merge untangled my brain
Do you ever pull out all of your midi cables and try to rethink everything because some machines have thru ports and others don't and some controllers don't have out ports and - well, things aren't working the way you want? These little Quadra Thru and Quadra Merge boxes have solved all of my problems!

For the price, they are 5 stars for sure but I put them at 4.5 because they could be housed in metal.

ALSO... side note, I just received a 3rd on of these, and it has 2 outs on it! I didn't anticipate that, but it's going to be very very useful. Looks like it has been updated. This box just got moved back to 5 stars.

The only downside would be if you dropped a heavy amp on it or if you had a midi device that didn't carry any power. (you'll need at least one of the inputs to carry power)

Four controllers for One Workstation
With the powerful workstations of today, where 16 tracks can be assign each their own Midi Channel, you may want to divvy out these tracks to other keyboards.
If you're working out of a Kronos playing piano and you need to quickly switch to organ, that's easy for the Kronos with just the tap of a button. But if you don't want to touch and even think about switching settings, simply setup a second keyboard on a stand or slap on a 2rd tier and keep playing.

Make sure your Midi Controllers have the 5-pin Midi Out port.
Make sure you have enough Midi cables.
Make sure that the 4 Midi Ins on the Quadra Merge is enough for you.

You might have Roland, Nektar, StudioLogic, and Behringer controllers. But what about adding midi foot pedals?
A smaller option is the MIDI Solutions Merger.
The larger form comes in the MIDI Solutions T8.

If you love building a fortress of keys around you, a Midi Merger will be instrumental if you work out of one keyboard workstation. Midi Controller Keyboards are less expensive and make a good choice for a second, third, or fourth keyboard, and the Quadra Merge will make it all work for you.
