Channeling ddrum’s roots in Sweden, NIO refers to the Swedish word for nine, saluting its 9-pad configuration. These bright red pads are your ticket to hundreds of percussive sounds, including 30 preset kits and 20 spots for your own custom designs. Plug in some headphones to listen to and play along with your favorite songs or use the stereo outputs for live performances. The NIO easily integrates into your acoustic and electronic setups as well, with all the outputs you need for success onstage and in the recording studio.

The NIO keeps your creativity at the forefront of every drum session, giving you a massive 608 total sounds to work with. Try out some of ddrum’s 30 exciting pre-configured kits or create your own drum kit to perfectly mesh with your desired sound. Practice your time with the metronome, record loops, and take advantage of the 512 MB of storage for loading your own samples, loops, and effects.
Dedicated, stylish design
When engineering the NIO, ddrum devised a module that looks fantastic, no matter where you take it. Six jumbo isolated pads and three isolated edge pads boast a striking red appearance, perfect for playing onstage and when you find yourself amid darker lighting. Speaking of adapting to stage lighting, the red glow screen and glow-in-the-dark buttons and toggles make staying on top of your percussive library a cinch in every situation!
Ready to connect and expand
The rear panel of the NIO offers a tremendous array of inputs and outputs, equipping you with all the channeling needed for expressing your sound for the situation at hand. USB-A and USB-B connection lets you adapt easily in the recording studio, and even becomes MIDI connectable with a pair of MIDI in/out jacks to suit all your performance needs. A 3.5mm auxiliary jack sits beside right and left 1/4-inch outputs with a master volume control for connecting to your monitor of choice, letting you play along to songs and effortlessly take command of performance spaces, respectively. There’s even a headphone jack so that you can practice in silence for those late-night sessions, perfect for apartments and dorms.
Additionally, the NIO has a pair of dual zone trigger inputs and a pair of foot pedal inputs for expanding your kit up to a grand total of 13 individual percussion triggers.
